MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: THE C.H.A.P. STORE

Caring, Helping And Providing is the mission of the NCC thrift store and ministry center located in Burnsville, MN. (find us on Facebook)

The CHAP store has been in existence for many years but is only in its 2nd year as a ministry of the North Central Conference. We would like to share with our EC churches the unique opportunities this ministry brings as well as partnership needs the CHAP store has.

What does the CHAP store do?

1.Provide high quality, 2nd hand items at an affordable price.

2.Partner with the local social service agencies as an emergency food, clothing and furniture shelf. This allows referred people to come to the CHAP store and choose free food, clothing, and furniture.

3.Food ministry three mornings a week for any member of the community to receive free grocery items.

4.Ministry center that holds chapel three mornings a week before the grocery distribution that includes worship, prayer and a Christ-centered message three mornings a week before the grocery distribution.

5.Caring, trained staff seeking opportunities to minister to customers. This ministry includes listening, counsel, prayer, and referrals when necessary.

6.Provide funds to the North Central Conference for Kingdom expansion. This includes start up funds for new ministries as well as support for existing ministries

How can you partner with the CHAP store?

1.Pray for CHAPs ministry opportunities and Gods power to love and serve the broken.

2.For those in the area, you can volunteer hours (help is needed to prepare donations for display, help with pick up and delivery services, place items on the sales and gather donations from your community to be delivered to the CHAP Store.

3s.The NCC has 5 more installments towards the acquisition of the store. We are asking those upon whom the Spirit stirs to consider a one-time donation to the NCC to help cover these last five payments.Freeing up CHAPs profits from these installments will allow them to expand their present ministry and begin giving back to the NCC toward Kingdom expansion opportunities.
